Vitamin D Rapid Flow Test – 25(OH)D – Pack of 25

The Vitamin D Rapid Flow Test is a single-use capillary assay for use with the PolarisDX Igloo Pro device. From a small finger-prick blood sample, it provides a quantitative 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] value in minutes, giving a quick view of Vitamin D status during the appointment.

What the Vitamin D Test Measures

  • Vitamin D status: Measures 25(OH)D, the main circulating form of Vitamin D and the best marker of Vitamin D supply.
  • Possible insufficiency or deficiency: Low values may be seen in people with limited sun exposure, low dietary intake, or reduced absorption.
  • Possible excess: Very high values may indicate excessive intake from supplements.
  • Objective baseline: Provides a numerical value that can be tracked over time and shared with other healthcare professionals.

Benefits of Vitamin D Testing for Patients

  • Clarity around symptoms: Helps explore fatigue, low mood, muscle aches, bone pain, or frequent infections.
  • Support for bone and oral health: Low Vitamin D can be associated with reduced bone density, delayed healing, and increased fracture risk.
  • Convenient finger-prick test: Offers a quick Vitamin D screen without a separate laboratory visit.
  • Better conversations with clinicians: A clear Vitamin D value can support discussions with a GP or other healthcare professional about lifestyle, supplements, or further tests.
  • Vitamin D results should always be interpreted with symptoms, medical history, and any other relevant blood tests. Patients with ongoing symptoms or abnormal values should be encouraged to seek medical assessment.

When Vitamin D Testing May Be Considered

  • Persistent tiredness or low energy: When sleep and lifestyle changes have not fully helped.
  • Bone, joint, or muscle discomfort: Aching, weakness, or cramps without a clear cause.
  • Frequent colds or infections: To explore a possible Vitamin D contribution to immune health.
  • Limited sun exposure: People who spend most of the day indoors, cover up, or use high-factor sunscreen.
  • Higher-risk groups: Older adults, people with darker skin tones, higher body weight, or known malabsorption.
  • Oral and facial considerations: Slow healing after procedures or concern about bone support for implants or other treatments.

Benefits for Your Clinic or Wellness Service

  • Broader health screening: Add Vitamin D checks alongside other metabolic and wellness tests.
  • New revenue opportunity: Offer Vitamin D testing with follow-up reviews and, where appropriate, lifestyle or supplement advice and onward referral.
  • Results in minutes: Discuss findings and next steps while the patient is still in the chair.
  • Digital record keeping: Results are stored on the Igloo Pro device and can be shared with patients or their medical team.

Each box contains 25 single-use Vitamin D Rapid Flow tests, ready for use with the PolarisDX Igloo Pro. This test is intended as a screening and information tool. It does not replace full assessment, laboratory testing, or diagnosis by a GP or other medical specialist.
